Redesign in progress. This site turns two in a few days and I figured it was about time for a new paint job. Anyone interested in following along as I develop the new look can do so by peeking in over here every so often. (Please note that what you see there is still far from resolved.)

The usual goals are in place for the new design: better typography, more semantic mark-up, completely table-free layout, valid xhtml and css, accessible use of image replacement, and all other DWWS type goodness. I’m also trying to create a more flexible visual vocabulary for the site. The portfolio page, for example, will likely break away from the automotive theme, but still carry the overall look of the jmb.com brand. And it’s going to be Flash, all Flash… Maybe… (Probably because finding a web design job in my city seems to rely more on a mastery of Flash than xhtml, css, etc.)

I hope to have the new look applied to Motor Skills in time for the two year anniversary (I’m going to avoid saying anything definite ‘cause that’s the kiss of death), and the rest of the site will follow suit as time allows.
