First: I’m stopping with the “bits” thing now before we get into 'The Good The Bits and The Ugly' or 'High Plains Bits-ter' because that would be just stupid.

Second: A couple links and some lyrics. Signal vs. Noise points to an amazing collection of retro ads and lifestyle shots. Of course my favorites are the automotive ads. I like this one a lot.

For something 180 degrees opposite of smiling 50’s suburbia, go read gangstories. Powerful stuff. No description I can offer would do it justice, just read it.

Third: Afternoon M&M’s. The importance of the little-pick-me-up provided by the occasional bag of Peanut M&M’s in the afternoon (when time and mind seem to lag) cannot be underestimated. Best coupled with black coffee: the bitter and the sweet sing together.
