I've been seeing a lot of 3 lately. 3 has a way of making Spaceballs look like an unparalleled comedic masterpeice. 3 insists that Bill Pullman is the finest actor of our generation. Comedy, action, drama, film noir he's got it all. 3 keeps me informed – who knew Larry Hagman was still alive? I thought he died years ago. 3 kicks into the bass line from the intro to Barney Miller, creating a pavlovian effect – I'm little, the smokey living room, faux wood paneling, my father's laughter. It's comforting in a deeply forlorn way. 3 hovers darkly out of focus just beyond over-tired, just before exhaustion, blurring my burning eyes. 3 suggests that I'll need glasses sooner than I thought. 3 smacks me on the back and tells me to go the hell to bed before I get down right silly.
